Harvey Wallbanger. What a name for a cocktail! We put a couple different spins on this 70’s classic, but the base ingredients make it pretty darn easy to mix up at home. Vodka, orange juice (squeeze it fresh if you can! ), and a Galliano float are all you need. So like a screwdriver, but better!! There are contradicting backstories to this cocktail’s origin, but popular opinion says it was named after California surfer Tom Harvey who frequently ordered this at his local Hollywood hangout. Others say the same Harvey was seen to bounce around from bar to bar, “banging” his surfboard against the walls. Still others say this drink was created at a 60’s party, where the attendees drank this concoction all night and were banging their heads against the wall the next morning with a horrible hangover. Any of these stories really tell you one thing – it’s so good you’re going to want more than one… In our variations, we added triple sec and did another option with maraschino liqueur. We concluded that while good in classic form, a little triple sec really doesn’t hurt. Just maybe limit yourself to 1 or 2… Swipe ⬅️ for the recipe & just a tip – you can try Mr. Wallbanger’s tasty cousin, Freddy Fudpucker, just by swapping tequila for the vodka . Cheers!
