Great Scotch & Galliano


– 2 slices ginger, muddled
– 2oz Scotch whisky
– 1oz lemon juice
– 1/2oz Galliano
– 1/2oz Demerara syrup
– 1/2oz creme de peche
– fresh ginger, lemon wheel, mint for garnish


Martini, Scotch,

We were determined to branch out today and use our Galliano . This Italian herbal liqueur is completely unique and herbaceous, and while the bottle is a lovely countertop piece it’s not something we pull out very often. The recipe is a carefully crafted blend of 30 different herbs and spices (wow!) and we felt it would pair best with a bold spirit and sweetness to balance the herbs – thus the “Great Scotch & Galliano” was born. This cocktail uses Glenmorangie scotch whisky, Galliano, Creme de peche, lemon juice, demerara syrup and muddled fresh ginger. It’s slightly sweet, bitter, and you still get that distinct scotch finish. Not a bad way to kick off the week, eh??
How To: Combine ginger slices and demerara syrup in shaker and muddle well. Add remaining ingredients and shake. Pour into a stemless martini glass with ice. Garnish with fresh ginger, lemon wheel and a couple mint sprigs.
